Ashish Lakhanpal talks about entrepreneurship and mistakes startups make in the opening talk at ZaGarage
We have recently launched a discussion series at Kuliza to share research and knowledge on topics like social technologies, design and entrepreneurship and get interesting people inside and outside Kuliza to talk on relevant topics.
Since most of our interesting research, insights and opinions come through the ZaGarage platform, we thought of naming these discussions as ZaGarage talks.
Our opening talk in this series was by Ashish Lakhanpal, the founding and managing director of Kismet Capital, LLC, a private equity investment firm, who shared his ideas on entrepreneurship, culture and mistakes that some of the startups make in their product planning and business management.
I am sharing a few pics from the talk.
The discussion with Ashish revolved around the mistakes made by many startups around the dot com bust, creating a flat and independent culture in start-up firms, how start-up ideas need to be more ‘end customer’ focussed rather than ‘trend’ focussed and creating business cases for getting fundings.
In the coming weeks in ZaGarage talks, we plan to share more ideas on how social technologies are emerging and how social media and social technologies are supporting each other in creation of some fascinating social platforms. If you happen to be interested in attending one of our ZaGarage talks, you can contact us or view the videos on the ZaGarage vimeo channel (coming soon).
