A white label product for brands to run their Facebook campaigns with ease!

I remember having a conversation with the Account Director of a leading PR agency in India and telling her how Facebook apps can be used to run social media contest and campaigns like photo / video contest, ideation contest to crowdsource ideas, referral campaigns etc. It was really interesting to see her excitement for such campaigns for her clients and she thought that a large number of brands in Indian and International markets would love to run such social media campaigns on Facebook.

It is easy to understand such increasing interest for social media campaigns using Facebook apps and I think there are many reasons why brands find them a valuable proposition. First, the social media campaigns provide a welcome relief from the traditional media campaigns. Secondly, they go beyond the typical promises of buzz generation, awareness and eyeballs to engagement and evangelism.  Such campaigns spread virally through word of mouth and have a direct impact on the brand’s fan base. Moreover, the use of apps allows you to design remarkable campaigns and move beyond the typical content marketing campaigns on Facebook.

Today we can see many brands that understand the potential of Facebook apps for running campaigns. Nike is currently running the Free Arena campaign, which is a video contest through Facebook, where it is asking users to submit videos of their sporty moves and stunts and getting community to vote for the best video. Some time back, Levis ran another video contest for their Facebook community to find the next ‘face and voice’ of their women’s wear brand. Johnson’s Baby Canada ran a photo contest to crowdsource the new face of their website and Facebook page. In India txtWeb, a leading SMS app platform, launched an ideation contest where users could crowdsource the ideas for their favourite SMS apps which can then be used by developers to build these apps. (Disclosure: txtWeb is Kuliza’s client)

Although many more marketing and brand managers understand the potential of Facebook to run such contest and campaigns, the biggest challenge they face include hassles involved in dealing with technology vendors and digital marketing agencies and the time involved in custom development of such campaigns.  Such investments in terms of added cost and time become important if you have a unique idea or requirements that need customized design and development. However you can always be spared of such hassles by going for white label products, if there are ones those cater to your needs.

Seeing the large potential to create some fascinating social media campaigns for brands and the challenges that the current marketing managers face, we have launched white label product called fb-Soapbox to help brands run Facebook contest and campaigns with ease.
