biography

Abhishek always used to enjoy physics in school. He participated in various national and state level Olympiads and got numerous prizes. As a kid he used to love painting and represented his school at various on-spot painting events, but due to some unknown reasons, which even he wasn’t able to figure out, he quit.
Abhishek has worked on various academic projects including gesture recognition through association mining, a metaprogramming tool, a 3-D car racing game (as a part of computer graphics module) and a software tool for analysis of CT scans of brain and the possible implementations of this tool in detection of trademark infringement. He even co-authored a paper on computer vision which was selected as the best paper in Computer Science by IIT Roorkee during their annual technical fest in 2010. When working on projects, he likes to keep improving the quality of work by coming up with new innovative ideas.
Abhishek is very passionate about sports. He was a part of the winning football team in Inter-IIIT Sports Fest held at ABV-IIITM in 2008 and 2009. He was adjudged as the Man of the Tournament in inter-institutional sports fest held at MNNIT Allahabad in 2009. He also represented IIITA in TT. Some years back he was very passionate about Taekwondo and represented Showmin Martial Arts Academy at district level Taekwondo Championship held at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi.
Two things that he cannot live without are movies and music. He likes all kinds of music, whether it is trance, pop, hip-hop, rock-n-roll, metal, bhajans or even romantic bollywood numbers. He is a fan of the Bourne series and you can always find him telling people to watch Fight Club and Requiem for a Dream.
