biography

Few people know that I had a short stint as a banker in a leading public sector bank much before I ventured into information technology. Getting to know how fiscal policy impacts all aspects of the economy was an enriching experience, however the day-to-day chores of keeping a bank humming was not my cup of tea and I left to pursue higher studies.

After completing masters in computer applications in 2002, I joined Oracle where I was part of a tiny 15-person on-demand team that grew to 200 in India within just 3-years. Oracle ERP experience was all about how data is used to make strategic decisions in enterprises throughout the world. I worked for some of the key customers of Oracle On-Demand, among them were the world's leading long distance airline and world’s premier measurement company.

After founding Kuliza, I did a series of jobs like coding, designing enterprise databases and managing finance and administration, all at the same time! However, after attending a Management Program at IIM, Bangalore, I found my true calling and finally settled into finance and legal compliance as my key specialization area. I have consistently strived to mature the business processes in the finance and legal departments by bringing in incremental changes over the years.
I am committed to promote the traditional art and crafts of India and have keen interest in tribal art from different parts of the country. I strongly believe that we should support the ecosystem for the sustenance of the people engaged in these traditional art forms by buying original art and avoiding cheap imitations.

An avid reader, I cannot sleep till I have read a few pages. I travel vicariously by reading about great countries and cities and some day would like to travel extensively around the world. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to jugalbandis of the great maestros of Hindustani classical music.

When in doubt, I seek solace in the zen philosophy, which brings me back to the task at hand. A mother of two highly energetic and curious kids, balancing life and work is what keeps me challenged.
